When creating candelabra of this IL Letterato set, Ginori 1735 called on designer Luca Nichetto to achieve a modern rendition of classic sculptural beauty. Nichetto drew inspiration from Lucha Libre masks as well as the drawings of artist Jean-Paul Goude to create The Scholar.
