This 1880’s pattern was originally created as a ceiling decoration for A. A. Ionides, the wealthy resident of No 1 Holland Park. Repeating as a kaleidoscope-like mirroring, the pattern features Lilies, a flower loved by Morris and used frequently in his designs. Seen here in the Red colourway.
