Description
Aesthetically designed pendant lamp Caravaggio™ in Scandinavian style - with opal glass shade The pendant lamp Caravaggio™ by the Danish designer Cecilie Manz is equipped in this version with a hand-blown shade made of opal glass, which emits the light of the inserted bulb directly downwards as well as glare-free to the sides through the glass. A cosy lighting atmosphere is created. Caravaggio™ can be used as a solitary luminaire, e.g. as ambient or area lighting in a private home, but can also adequately illuminate a restaurant counter when hung in a row, for example. The atmospheric light creates a cosy atmosphere. The minimalist design with modern features is typical of the work of Cecilie Manz, who came into contact with design in her childhood through her parents' artistic activities. She went on to study at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1992 and then spent a semester abroad at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. The artist, who prefers to work alone in the studio she founded after graduation, drawing her ideas on paper and giving form to her designs in her workshop in the basement of the studio, says of herself that she sees her work as fragments of a larger, ongoing story in which projects are often connected or related to each other across time and function in terms of their ideas, materials and aesthetics. Her creativity is not limited to lighting design, however; she also creates ceramics, accessories for the home, and furniture. The decorative glass pendant lamp Caravaggio™ is manufactured by FRITZ HANSEN, a Danish company that has worked with renowned designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Bruno Mathsson, Kaare Klint, Verner Panton and Hans J. Wegner in its history since 1872 and is considered a guarantor for quality products that have the status of design icons far beyond the borders of Denmark.
