'Still Life (The Grey Fan)' by artist Francis Cadell. This colourful giclee print has a cotton core mount in a handmade and hand-finished sustainably sourced solid ash wood frame. Made in the UK by museum specialists and printed on heavyweight, matt-smooth fine art paper, it's ready to hang on your wall. Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell studied in Paris and lived in Munich before settling in his native Edinburgh around 1909. Cadell's pre-war work is influenced by the Impressionists. From around 1920, his work became brighter and bolder. Cadell painted a series of colourful still lifes, which caused some controversy when first exhibited. He employed a limited stock of objects in his still lives, typically with a steeply banked perspective and a decorative sense of pattern in his work of the early 1920s.
