Description
The Prodigy 1.0 is a park-orientated model that makes progression simple. This poplar-cored, freestyle twin, has buckets of pop and flex while maintaining real performance on the downhill. Generous rocker at the nose and tail make handling intuitive whatever the snow and aid butters. The directional shape ensures that you have more control throughout your turn and can blend those carves into butters easily. A bombproof set of sticks that lay the tracks for modern-day, do-it-all park skis. Terrain Type & Ability Level Terrain Type Loads of time in the park and searching out natural hits on the mountain and side of the piste. It ll handle powder days too as well as a few runs down the groomers chasing piste skiers. Skier Type Skiers looking to progress on a ski that will butter as well as it pops. It won t suit the heaviest skiers but it s no lightweight either. Overview Shape The Prodigy 1.0 is a directional twin, with a wider nose than tail, making it feel super-stable and boosting control. 90mm underfoot is perfect for the park, feeling quick from edge-to-edge yet still wide enough for float in softer snow. The 18m (181cm) radius boosts the stability on landings and in rougher snow, as well as remaining easy to turn. The set-back contact points create long tips and tails, improving the handling in softer snow and making butters smoother. Rocker Tip and Tail Rocker uses traditional camber underfoot for response and good edge grip, with rocker at the tip and tail to improve manoeuvrability by aiding turn initiation and completion. Core Poplar is a light-colored, medium-weight, durable softwood that flexes and pops nicely as well as having a whole load of vibration absorption capabilities. Used as the only wood in this core, it allows the ski to pop, butter and stomp and also have enough torsional stability to grip impressively on the downhill. Construction Full Strength Sidewalls uses a construction that places strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet. Sidewalls provide the best possible edge hold and stability when the ski is engaged in a turn as well as protecting the wood core, edges and topsheet from impact and outside damage. Micro-cap construction is a hybrid of a premium, sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight, durable cap construction. With micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold and torsional stability while the ski s topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, protecting the fragile join that can be prone to chipping. Key Features XL 2.5mm Edges Thicker edges mean increased durability and impact resistance, crucial for a ski that is built to test the rule book. Sustainability RECYCLED MATERIALS, working with production partners to eliminate material waste, they now mix base, sidewall and topsheet material scraps back into the raw material used for production, reducing carbon emissions while ensuring the same level of quality & durability. LOCALLY SOURCED MATERIALS, in an effort to reduce the impact of their supply chain, Faction strive to source materials from European companies that are based near to their factories. 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY, this ski is produced in a cutting-edge facility that runs on electrical power that is 100% renewable. Additionally, its heating energy comes solely from biomass. The factory no longer uses oil, resulting in annual CO2 emissions reductions of a whopping 10 million kilograms. EB tester’s comments: Mark (Trainer) It's a bit of a one quiver ski for someone who really likes a twin tip. They are fun to mess around on, but surprisingly capable on hard pack and fun off to the side in variable conditions.
