The Heritage Gold State Coach Surprise Locket features a miniature replica of the iconic Gold State Coach, which has been a splendid sight at royal coronations, jubilees, and events since it was built in 1762 to transport British kings and queens. The miniature carriage sits upon a carnelian carved stone platform and is adorned with a diamond on the side of the door. The Heritage collection draws inspiration from Fabergé’s historical masterpieces. Traditional materials and complex traditional techniques, such as the delicate art of guilloché enamelling and hand-engraving, make up the signature elements of this colourful and opulent collection. Standing 75mm high, the egg is mounted on a stand crafted from carved aventurine and includes a responsibly sourced Gemfields Zambian cabochon emerald button. Each anemone is hand-painted with dark blue enamel. A special detail is the gold rim that encircles the guilloché plate: the gold has been worked by hand into an organic serrated pattern, echoing the shape of the leaves. The base of the object opens into a fluted gold setting.
