This item is a ceramic mug that is great for serving hot or cold items. This piece measures measurements H 3 3/8 x W 4 1/2 x D 6 1/2 & will hold 16 oz. This cup is dishwasher, microwave, & oven safe. My coffee mugs have been an extremely popular item at my art & crafts shows over the years & they are absolutely adored by my customers. Many people comment on my large handles that make these pieces easy to hold & use with comfort. These make a great practical gift for yourself or others! Process: The clay is first mixed by hand using 100 lbs. of dry materials - various clay bodies, silica, feldspar, recycled clay, & water. The materials are all put in a large clay mixer & allowed to mix to the right consistency. The clay is the weighed to determine the size & they created on a potters wheel by hand. The clay is then allowed to harden slightly, trimmed & allowed to dry. Next, the pottery is bisque fired (1945 degrees F.) 8-12 hrs. The piece is allowed to cool slowly, then glazed with high fire glazes & placed in a natural gas kiln. All of my glazes are mixed from scratch using only raw ingredients. The piece will then be fired over the course of 16-20 hours to a final temperature of 2345 degrees F. Uses: Uses: All of my work is completely food safe & can be put in the dishwasher, microwave & oven. Because I mix all of my own materials I know exactly what it in it. The bowl is great for using as a soup bowl, cereal bowl, ice cream bowl, or for eating just about anything.
