Name: Waiting for the Wind This artistic sailboat in fog print photo was taken during a foggy, still, flat light morning in southeast Alaska. Onboard the M/V Northern Song, we were looking for humpback whales for a research project. This sailboat appeared to be buttoned up, waiting for the fog to lift & the wind to appear. What was a sailboat doing anchored up in this middle-of-nowhere location? It almost appeared to be abandoned, with no souls visible onboard. It seemed a bit mysterious to my imagination, so I chose to turn this into a painting-like photo. Surrounded by shades of blue, the hull of the boat seems to glow as if to claim its spot as the focal point of attention.
