Description
This is a large vintage copper tankard or mug. It has an Arts & Crafts look as it has been hand made. As it isn't stamped with a makers mark, it's difficult to be exact about when it was made, but the construction of the item is not a modern one. The copper is planished, it has the hammered textured finish. It has been well used in its life. There are 2 dents close together at the bottom & the handle has been distorted in shape, but is still attached firmly. It stands 14 cm tall to the rim, 16.5 cm to the top of the handle. It has a diameter of 10 cm. If well cleaned, as the tankard still has the tin lining, it could still be used for drinking, personally I wouldn't, but it would make a lovely vase or just to look pretty as decoration.
