Vintage Memphis Style Postmodern Rectangular Minimalistic Armchair A curious piece of design from the 1980s, this armchair comes in an irregular rectangular anthropomorphic three-dimensional metal frame powder-coated in glossy grey that features a birch wooden ball accent at the end of each armrest & cobalt blue velvet cushioned seats. The chair's design shows strong influences from the Memphis School of Design in Milano. Origin: unknown, produced most likely in the 1980s either in Italy or West Germany. Condition: in very good vintage shape. No rips or tears to the seat, one small rip to the backrest that has been fixed (see image 9, left panel). No smells, no stains. The metal frame is in good shape, with some small scuffs & scratches to the paint along the backrest & legs, but no signs of rust. The entire structure is stable. Please also note that the chair will be travelling partially disassembled out of safety concerns (the backrest will be detached from the main frame).
