Modern home decor, handwoven cotton pillowcase, 21 inch square cushion, farmhouse style, dark gray, brown, beige, white throw pillow cover, organic dye QQ44 No maker expense spared or corners cut: - Size 21 x 21 (best used with a slightly larger insert) - Soft, handwoven cotton fabric colored using natural, organic dyes - Top of the line, YKK invisible zipper - Fusible interlining on both front & back fabrics for durability - Professionally serged seams to prevent fraying - Beautiful & elegant linen/hemp/cotton back fabric - Handsome colors married to tasteful design Because of the particular handmade/handwoven characteristics, dimensions are intended as plus or minus half an inch. The front fabric is cut from a cotton tunic hand-loomed by the Karen or Karian hill tribe ethnic minority in Thailand. They are also know as Pakeryaw. Many folks call their items Hmong because the term Karen has taken on a negative meaning in the west. I, too, am guilty of doing this. Not to mislead people but simply because folks search for Hmong items even though what they are looking for is a Karen item. It's unfortunate... The back of the pillow is constructed from a luxurious, medium weight, linen, hemp, & cotton fabric with corduroy type ridges & a wonderful hand feel. The color is a neutral unbleached mottled beige with slight color variations from the natural fibers. This fabric can have naturally occurring ripples & eddies adding to the country-rustic feel. The two pillows on offer are mirror images of each other; one with the tassels on the left & one with the tassels on the right. An interlining/fusing has been applied to the rear-side of both the front & back fabrics to maintain fabric integrity & smashing good looks, & a top-of-the-line, YKK-zipper has been chosen for the fill opening to add strength & durability. in addition, all fabric joints have been serged/overlocked to properly seal the edges, prevent fraying, & provide a crisp, clean finish. The last photo shows the professional craftmanship of the inside of all our pillows. This listing is for the pillowcase only & does not include an insert, unless otherwise noted. The cotton in these pillow cases is colored using natural, organic, vegetable dyes. This is a more expensive & time-consuming process than using chemical dyes but results in the enchanting character & soft hues of the colors you see in the photos.
