'Iola', meaning 'dawn', is a romantic, hand woven piece filled with calming rose, stone & natural tones curated from the best quality, handmade materials HOW IT'S MADE Hand woven directly onto a bamboo embroidery hoop, using traditional weaving techniques & unique, organic materials. DESIGN This piece is full of movement & calming colours, following organic lines of cotton rope which carve the structure of the texture. in classic Wallflower style, it is very tactile with pops of art yarn, rope, ribbon & delicate bursts of white gold. Areas of concentrated texture stand within the embroidery hoop structure. MATERIALS As with all Wallflower weavings, original, handmade yarns make up a majority of the woven work. These materials are processed in our cottage yard by hand, using freshly shorn fleece or ethically sourced silks, cottons & threads. They are washed, plant or powder dyed & sorted through a time & labour intensive process. The artistry of fellow spinners & dyers has also been used to compliment this lovely palette. Plant dyed silks against pops of art yarns & hand dyed threads offer a unique touch nowhere else to be found. The beautiful pure wools give that edge of high quality to the piece.
