This is a rare item that is English & dates from the early part of the last century. I believe it to be a wafer lift for delicate after dinner bites. The decorative flap opens when the button at the end of the ebony handle is pressed. The item is marked 'FF PATENT' on the reverse side. The item is in good, working used condition but does have several areas of wear to the silver plating (see pics).nIt has a length of just over 15cm.
