Mid-century 1950s Upsala Ekeby Kokos (Coconut) series ceramic vase, designed by Hjrdis Oldfors, made in Sweden, features a matte chocolate brown finish with recessed glossy yellow stripes, signed on the bottom UE, initialed HJ, model number 5029. Kokos series was in production from 1954-58. Hjrdis Oldfors (1920-2014) is one of the well-known representatives of the illustrious Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century. She was one of the leading designers for the Upsala-Ekeby factory in the 1950s & 1960s. Oldfors is represented at numerous museums in Sweden. in very good vintage condition with some minuscule imperfections, small abrasions. Please view all photos & message me with any questions.
