Description
Circa 1950s vintage ceramic plate by Alfred Meakin of England. Diameter 22.5cm, 8 9/10 inches. From the range of pottery known as '18th Century French Costumes, Grape Pickers of Burgundy'. Colour illustration to top depicting a lady grape picker in rustic French costume, stood in a vineyard, with grapes, hills & houses in the background. Circular white plate with slightly wavy edge, moulded leaf & flower pattern to outer areas, & gold colour rim. Backstamp underneath 'Alfred Meakin England' with a crown. Condition: The top is mostly excellent, with some wear to the gold colour rim, & some minute marks in the moulded pottery. The bottom of the plate has some small fine scuff lines; & a small indentation in the pottery, from manufacture (the indent has glaze on it, therefore not a chip from external causes).
