Description
This is a smashing antique sideboard which dates to the mid 1800s. Made of solid pine it a has a rustic country look which will suit a farmhouse or cottage, the perfect piece if you love well aged pine. Given its size I think it would work rather well as a kitchen island, with the addition of a slate or granite top it would make a useful preparation area. The sideboard is rather unusual, it is quite deep but not particularly wide & has an arrangement of four spacious drawers to the right which are finished with attractive metal drop handles set on decorative back plates. To the left there is a cupboard with shelf set under a further drawer to the top. The base is set on a simple shallow base plinth. The wood has a naturally waxed finish which has a low sheen. CONDITION This piece is in solid structural condition with many small marks of age & use to the wood. It is a very rustic & well aged piece, the top has various small specks of paint below the waxed finish & one dark mark to the back on the left hand side.
