Norwegian Mangle Board . Primitive Hand Tool . Norwegian Folk Art. Scandinavian Wooden Wall Art . Hand Carved Horse A wonderful hand carved Norwegian Mangle Board. It's incredibly nice work. Signed. Made in 1990 A mangle board was used in Norway to smooth out linen. Traditionally, a man would hand-make a mangle board, decorating it with beautiful carving, & then he would present it to his wife-to-be. The carvings on the main board are rosemaling inspired. The carved handle is in the shape of a horse. & she is intricately carved & lovely with her head bowed. Good vintage condition.
