Wooden Pine Storage Transport Trunk Re-Purposed as a Great Coffee Table Toy Chest Blanket Box Very Good Original Clean Condition #1 Purchased in the UK this trunk makes for a smashing Coffee Table, but is equally well suited as a Toy Box, Shoe Box, Blanket box etc. We purchased 3 of these utilitarian boxes from the Newark Antiques fair. The dealer we purchased from said they had cleared from an old chemists shop in County Durham. The boxes were full of hay & straw (see picture numer 10) which I presume was to originally protect the contents. From the text to the side of the boxes an the lid it looks like to boxes contained glass. Please note the lids are not hinged. The lids simply sit on top of the boxes. If you wanted to add hinges it wouldn't take to much effort. The boxes are basic in construction. Hammer & nails. They have all been given a good clean & waxing as pictured. They measure 49 cm wide by 34 cm deep by 32 cm high. Superb for General Storage & makes for a great Coffee Table. The box has text to one end with various bits of text as pictured.
