A Victorian Carved Oak Green Man Writing Table. This lovely carved desk comprises of a rectangular top piece with carved surround, five drawers & a pierced brass gallery rail. The base has five drawers & sits on spiral twist turned legs & stretchers. The green man mask carvings have a long history in Europe & the USA where it is known as the North Wind, sometimes also referred as Lion Mask carvings. The desk is in overall good used condition & has marks & wear consistent with use over the years. (please study the photo's for condition). Of the ten drawers eight have the original locks - two locks are missing from a small drawer on the top & a small drawer on the base - there is no key.
