The fabric alone on these covers tells a story & ultimately become a conversation piece in your chosen room. These pillow cases are made with Bogolan Mudcloth which is one of the most precious fabrics you could possibly have. They are also hand sewn here in Miami, Florida by a local seamstress. The pillow backing is made of a cotton canvas material. What is the story behind Bogolan Mudcloth?? We source our Bogolan Mudcloth from Western Africa. The fabric is dyed & composed of a thick cotton canvas, spun & woven 100% by hand. A pattern is dyed with fermented mud & other organic dyes. The dyeing technique is 100% organic, free from all kinds of harmful chemicals. Craftsmen draw symbols on these fabrics to tell traditional stories of the peoples of the region. Formerly used by warriors & hunters for camouflage, Bogolan fabric is used today around the world to illustrate its attachment to African culture. This Mudcloth is the perfect complement to the Bohemian-chic room decor. IMPORTANT NOTE: - Since it is hand made by craftsmen, therefore, there may be irregularities.
