A rare example of a Victorian style lidded Transferware soap dish. This soap dish is possibly early 20th century British pottery & features a pretty all over floral design mainly brown picked out in gold, pink & blue. This dish is in very good condition for its age. Some fading to the transferware & a few misses in the glaze. The pattern doesn't completely match up in places but this does not detract from the overall look. The bottom of the dish is divided into three sections & the lid has air holes & the sweetest handle. There is even a decorative pattern running around the edge underneath. There is a maker's mark underneath but it is hard to read & we have been unable to make it out. Please check photos carefully to ensure that you are happy with the vintage condition. The soap dish measures 7 cm high x 23 cm wide x 10 cm deep (Do check measurements before purchasing as it may not fit a modern sink) This is just the most beautiful thing! Can you tell I am in love with it? It's the colour combinations, the size & the dinky handle that all conspire to make this piece irresistible. Perfect for a Victorian style bathroom or dressing room. It could hold rings, hair clips or coins. Or it could just sit on a shelf looking stunning.
