An amphora (Greek: amphoreus) is a jar with two vertical handles used in antiquity for the storage & transportation of wine & olive oil. The name derives from the Greek amphi-phoreus meaning 'carried on both sides. Hand thrown on the pottery wheel & hand painted with food safe glazes. Handles added to the vessel & swirly pattern carved on the side with encrusted coffee beans as a special feature. All handcrafted by the artisan . Twice fired in the kiln to 2200F.
