Georges Mlis, Trip to the Moon. Vintage Photo Print 8 by 10 Marie-Georges-Jean Mlis (1861 - 1938), was a French illusionist, actor, & film director who led many technical & narrative developments in the earliest days of cinema. Mlis was well known for the use of special effects, popularizing such techniques as substitution splices, multiple exposures, time-lapse photography, dissolves, & hand-painted colour.
