Vintage Photo Closing Hour at Dallas Mill, 1910 by Lewis Hines. 8 by 10 Lewis Wickes Hine (1874 -1940) was an American sociologist & photographer. Hine used his camera as a tool for social reform. His photographs were instrumental in changing child labor laws in the United States. 'Closing hour, Saturday noon, at Dallas Mill. Every child in photos, so far as I was able to ascertain, works in that mill. When I questioned some of the youngest boys as to their ages, they said they were 12, & then other boys said they were lying. (Which sentiment I agreed with.) Location: Huntsville, Alabama.'
