Vintage 1970s Ivanhoe Sir Walter Scott on Black Faux Leather in Wood Frame Wall Art Plaque, Mid Century Wall Decor, Scottish Literature Gift. A cool & unusual piece, likely dating to the 1970s. This wall plaque features a gold tone metal design at its center, with colorful enameled accents throughout. The design features a knight in ornate armor, striped flags, poleaxes, & a banner across the bottom that says, Ivanhoe (in reference to the novel by Sir Walter Scott). The design is set against a black background (which is likely faux leather). Framed in a light wood frame. There is a metal hook on the back side, for easy display on a wall. Would make a stately addition to any home's decor! This piece measures approx. 6.5 inches tall x 5.5 inches wide x 1.25 inches thick. The back of the frame is marked, Franklin Picture Frame Co. Chicago. This piece is otherwise unmarked & unsigned by its maker, but that detracts nothing from its vintage appeal. in good vintage condition overall, with some general wear due to age, such as surface scratches, scuffs, spots, faded enamel/color in places, wear to the wood frame, worn/tarnished metal in places, etc. There are a few pinhole-sized punctures at the bottom of the piece, in the faux leather (photographed above). We think the wear only enhances this piece's vintage character.
