Brighten up your bookshelf, with this Book Nook shelf insert. made from upcycled hardback books. This Booknook diorama has led lights in it, & is made to fit on your bookshelf, but you can also use it as a bedside light, on a table in your hallway, on a shelf your desk or anywhere you can fit it! There are 5 LED fairy lights in the ceiling in light shades, & these are really quite bright when turned on in the dark, they are bright white lights. There is a standard lamp with a light in, with lights at the back of the chair as well that really highlight this area. This is a rather cosy chair with matching footstool. There is a small table which has a telephone, a drink , a real shell, a book, a bottle & a pair of spectacles too. There are little piles of books on the floor, & a Tibetan silver stags head on the left wall, a plant & a lucky Chinese cat ornament. The background is a photo quality image of a library. The chair, footstool, the standard lamp, the little table, the little books & cushion I made myself, some from things destined for the recycling bin. Yes I could have bought them but I am a constant collector of things I deem too good to throw away! The chair isn't glued in, so if you see one you prefer in another book nook, I can swap it for you. The battery pack is attached at the back for ease of changing the batteries, & the switch is at the top of the book at the end of the spine. The book is black with black finishing , & measures just under 9 1/2 tall, the book almost 6 deep, 71/4 including battery pack, almost 6 1/4 wide at the front then tapers towards the back. It uses 2 AA batteries. Hand crafted by me, taking quite a few hours, & made from upcycled books, so please allow for minor blemishes . Yes I treasure books but lots of unwanted hardback books end up in landfill as they can't be recycled. Rest assured the pages from the books I use have been removed from the spine, & recycled.
