Amazing set of 6 vintage Caithness Glass conical wine glasses. Fantastic space age glasses designed by Domhnall O'Broin in 1962. He was very heavily influence by Scandinavian modernist design, the range of colours used in his ware were inspired after the hues of the Scottish scenery - 'heather', 'soot', 'peat', 'loch, 'flint' & 'moss'. On offer we have the wonderful brown smoked 'peat' colourway that has an amazing flash of purple when catching the light! Production of this particular glass ceased in 1972. Beautiful glasses that will look fantastic on display if you decide they are too pretty to use! Please view photos as a visual description of item condition. Superb glasses in very good used vintage condition. Light wear commensurate with age (see photos) however, no signs of major chips, marks or damage.
