Extra Large Mug with leaves + Hand thrown & trimmed on potter's wheel + Hand pulled handle attached + Leaves pressed into clay & attached to mug + Bisque-fired + Leaves stained with Barnard & Red Iron oxides + Glazed with Winokur + Final high fire in gas kiln Leaves, trees & much of Mother Nature are an inspiration to me. After all, the materials are all of the earth. With this mug I used a real leaves pressed into a bit of clay. I then applied the clay to the underside of the handle attachment. The particular leaf or leaves for each piece are used only once, so each piece is one of a kind. I love the earthiness of this mug.
