BRITISH 1950'S STRAND VINTAGE THEATRE LIGHT - RE-PROPOSED INTO A BEAUTIFUL FLOOR LAMP This iconic example of British design was made by the strand lighting company in their Covent Garden works in London's west end. This strand 23 profile spotlight - also known as the 'baby spot' was one of the workhorses of the theatre industry from the 1950s to the 1980s. Regrettably, most have now been lost or destroyed & the survivors represent rare examples of an original British industrial design classic. The light has been superbly engineered & features a ventilated die-cast body, 360-degree rotation, Internal reflectors, & Iconic design. The spotlight has been professionally polished to a bright mirror finish by a specialist British company. We take pride in the finished result as the light represents a unique & rare piece of design history. The Light provides ideal feature lighting. The Light is presented on a polished aluminum tripod, The Tripod is height adjustable from 75 cm's to 170 cms. The light has been professionally re-wired with 3 core quality silk braided vintage style lighting flex & fitted with a high-quality CE approved inline foot dimmer switch. The dimmer switch allows for the light to be turned on or off with the press of a button, or to change the brightness from a warm glow to bright spotlight with the sliding control. The dimmer also features a night location neon indicator. The light has been converted for home or office use & takes regular household light bulbs up to 100 watts, we also had a deluxe vintage style Bakelite plug fitted (BS1363/A).
