Description
Forget teacups, we're talking the Bohemians. It's all about coffee! Paper-thin porcelain, this is a beautiful set of antique demitasse coffee/espresso cups, complete with their respective saucers. Pretty pink rose motif with its bouquet of wild flowers. The gold edging is in very good shape. There are no marks of any kind on the glaze. A somewhat unusual shape, I really like the ridges on the demitasse, while the saucer continues the motif in a charming way. Each piece has it's own backstamp, with the number 7385 & then 26. I couldn't find anything regarding the product number, not even on replacements.com. A rare, precious design? These espresso cups are sold, with their saucers, in sets of two. More are available, as is the coffee pot, creamer & sugar bowl. Here's a snippet from the Worthpoint's website: Both OEPIAG & EPIAG were associations of different potteries put together by the Austrian Government in 1918 to promote the sale of Bohemian pottery & porcelain. The name OEPIAG is an acronym for sterreichische Porzellan Industrie AG, which translates to Austrian Porcelain Industry. Any pottery with this mark generally predates 1920, when the name was changed Erste Bhemische Porzellan Industrie AGFirst Bohemian Porcelain Industryand the mark was switched to EPIAG. - https://www.worthpoint.com/articles/collectibles/its-all-in-marks-oepiag-epiag-mean I am also selling the coffee pot, creamer & sugar bowl.
