G Plan Sierra Bar Cabinet Shelving Shelves Height: 170 cm Width: 81 cm Depth: 28 cm The piece includes two adjustable shelves & a pull down bar section, which also has a shelf within. The backboard has been painted in 'Craig & Rose, Jet Black', which is actually a multi faceted blue-grey colour. ''The Sierra style was something of a throwback for G-Plan after their flirtation with Danish style in the 1960's. Bridging the gap between Kofod-Larsen & the 1970's Fresco range, Sierra has, if anything, more of the 1950's Brandon style to it, on the handles & the pale colouring for example.'' The piece would have been made in the 1960s when G plan almost exclusively used teak veneer. The patina of the veneer is gorgeous & it shows very little wear & tear considering its age. G Plan continued to operate under the Gomme family until 1987 when they sold the company to the board of directors. The following years brought significant downsizing, but the production never stopped. Today G Plan operates as part of Sofa Brands International, a holding company that also acquired Parker Knoll & Duresta.
