This sample board was found in an antique trunk, with some antique & vintage kimonos & 19th century books on Japanese block printing. This fabric , in my professional opinion , was a special fabric, antique & meant to be shown for purchase, so this is an early 20th century fabric sample. Some of the boards had a handle at the top, another clue. This would be wonderful for someone that wanted to dive in an research! So so interesting. No doubt, this would have been extremally expensive fabric to purchase. Either way, this textile sample would be STUNNING framed.
