A gorgeous & unusually-shaped ruby glass posy vase from Avon. This beautiful glass item is made from pressednor moulded glass in a rich ruby/claret colour. The shape of the vase has a perhaps cruciform pattern with a wide front & back panel attached to side panels with concave inserts. the shape is very organic & suits the height & surface decoration well. The rim is thick & follows he contours of the vase shape. the rim is high at the outer edge but slopes down at an angle into the aperture. The vase has a pattern of rising organic columns ascending the vase body from the base to around two thirds of the height. this raised relief texture is also very art nouveau in look. the vase has the maker mould of Avon impressed in the base. the vase stands at 163mm tall. it is 80mm wide & 50mm from front to back. the vase is in excellent vintage condition. a superb deep rich red accent colour. just wonderful.
