The print, our ref VAN 6243 on a 300grm2 tinatone grosso textured artboard has outside measurements; 45cm high x 32cm wide 17 3/4 x 12 5/8 The internal measurement of the print are 30cm wide x 39.5cm high 11 3/4 wide x 15 1/2 The featured design, ref 6243 was drawn up in July 1914 in Roubaix, France at Jacquard furnishing fabric weaver Vanoutryve. The talented designer was O.Goethale who was responsible for numerous Tapestry jacquard design for the company prior to the outbreak of World war one on the doorstep of the factory. We were pleased to discover other work by the designer in the firms archive dated 1922 which was when they returned to work in the rebuilt factory after the war. The point paper of this colourful floral tapestry design was purchased in Como, Italy in May 2019 by Richard M R Smith. Richard has a large textile archive collected over his time working in the Jacquard furnishing weaving industry. The Archive based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. England is a resource to the fabric & interior decorator market as well as a resource of artworks for The Point Paper Art Company.
