This listing is for an antique framed Oshie wall art presented behind glass in a black wood frame. This unique piece features a Geisha attired in her silk kimono robe. She is made of pillowed hand painted & embroidered silk fabrics, with a background showing a branch of florals. The artwork has foxing & the fabric shows age related color fading. The wood frame has scuffs. It measures approximately 23 high x 19 diameter. The image alone measures about 19 high x 11 diameter. Oshie pieces are a traditional Japanese handcrafted wall decorative art form, using high quality silk & brocade fabrics; known as oshie (literally, pressed pictures) that goes back to the Edo period (1603-1868).
