Description
This area rug was produced with the same traditional process as has been true for generations: sheep, grazing in the nearby mountains, are shorn & the wool is washed in the river; it is carded & spun into yarn; it is dyed with natural ingredients, in this case black sapote for the black, walnut shell for brown, cochineal for red, chamiso for green, & pomegranate for yellow; the pedal loom is strung with cotton thread & the weaving process is skillfully completed, incorporating a sunset design. The Bazan family is proud to continue this traditional craft & hopes you will think of the love & care that went into producing it whenever you see it in your home.
