This cute ornament is sure to become a treasured keepsake for many years to come. It's made by wet felting merino wool with a contrasting wool cuff & silk fiber. It is 4 from cuff to toe when hanging. It is open so you can put a small gift inside, like lipstick or candy. Would also make a great addition to a tag on a package. How it was made: Wet felting means that the wool is laid down in layers & is felted together by using warm water & soap. in this piece the wool is laid around a thin piece of plastic that acts as a resist. After the wool is laid out, other materials can be added. Once the wool starts to hold together, the resist is removed & the soap rinsed out. Then the ornament is formed into the final shape & left to dry. Wool is a wonderful, renewable material & is great for decorations in households with children & pets as it is unbreakable.
