This is a fantastic oval Ercol gate leg coffee table in the classic mid-century Windsor design. This oval coffee table is made in Ercol's light wood finish, probably in elm or ash, & it's lovely quality & really versatile. It folds away neatly when each leaf is down & it can be tucked away in a corner when not needed. It's so compact that I can offer shipping worldwide (free delivery to UK mainland). The table is in immaculate condition & looks like it was made yesterday! However, I would guess that it dates from around the 1980s/90s. The coffee table stands 18.5 (47cm) high & just 6.5 (16.5cm) deep when both leaves are folded down. When opened out fully, it measures 41 (104cm) long by 27 (69cm) wide. The table has an Ercol label underneath at the top of the gate leg, together with a gold Ercol button at the top of the outer middle section. I'm not sure how many of these light wood gate leg coffee tables were made by Ercol, but I haven't been able to find another the same. The dining tables in the same design are still being made today, but not the smaller coffee tables it would seem. This table would be a great mid-century addition to any home - I'm very tempted to keep it in mine! Condition: excellent.
