Cuboid shaped metal coffee table frame (Made in Devon, England) The legs in the pictures are made from 40x20mm ERW Steel box section, the frame has several fixing points to attach the underside of a table top. All our legs are finished in a powder coated finish - which is the best finish on the market, we have our own large in house powder coating operation which means we can give you the best prices for such a high quality finish. Legs are fully welded by an experienced welder to ensure longevity of the legs. These have plastic caps in the corners to prevent scratching or marking of flooring. MATERIAL Our table legs are made from ERW steel box which is so called because of the electronic resistance welding method employed in its manufacture, which uses a combination of heat & pressure resulting in a very consistent & strong forged weld seam. However it is employed, mild steel square ERW box offers a terrific level of performance & reliability, & it is also favoured as a very ‘green’ option as it is widely recycled. Square tube is a popular choice for the construction of space frames & strong yet lightweight structures such as kit car chassis’. Mild steel square box benefits from the strength & low weight of this structure & combines the formability & versatility that the lower carbon content of mild steel affords. This results in a square tube which is extremely easy to work with & one which can be cut, drilled & welded to suit any requirement. Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint & a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder & filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically & is then cured under heat to allow it to flow & form a "skin". The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. FINISHES UNFINISHED - legs are cleaned up & left without any finish. CLEAR FINISH - legs are degreased & then powder coated in clear gloss or clear matt to give a hard wearing coating, protecting from rust & enhancing the industrial steel finish. POWDER COATING STANDARD COLOURS - welds are ground off & sanded back to a smooth finish, next they are degreased & then powder coated in a stock colour to give a high quality hard wearing coating, protecting from rust.
