A unique opportunity to own or gift this stunning vintage Kantha quilt, an extraordinary type of embroidery. Incredibly soft & exceptionally well made with from 100% vintage sari cloth. Kantha is a type of embroidery typical in India, particularly Bengal & Bangalesh Old saris are recycled by stacking the fabric on top of each other & hand-stitching to make a small piece of fabric which is then used to make simple quilts commonly known as Nakshi Kantha. During my recent visit to Rajasthan, seeing that I was on the look out for unique, vintage items, the supplier took me into his walk in safe where amongst other things, he pulled out this stunning piece of art. Sourced in Bangladesh, he confirmed that this was more than 70yrs old. The uses are so versatile from a wall hanging, bed cover to even use as a rug. It will make a wonderful addition to any home.
