Holes are drilled into the back of your shelf & the concealed metal fixings are supplied so it's all ready to put up on arrival. The supplied fittings are suitable for solid masonry walls & can also be screwed directly into the timber joists of a stud wall. For plasterboard /cavity dry walls you will need to purchase butterfly toggle anchor fittings/molly plugs. These will anchor your floating shelves to the inside of the plasterboard. A stud finder can also be used to find your wall studs for fixing your shelves too. If you wish to drill your own holes into the back of your shelf to correspond with your studs just let me know.
