Our Cornish Storm Mug - Inspired by Cornish Stormy landscapes. Large Mug that is hand formed in my Cornish Studio, Sparrows Nest in the South West of England. Beautiful hand made stoneware ceramic mugs, formed with slabs of clay that are rolled with a rolling pin & folded to shape into a mug. Inspired by those wonderful Stormy days in Cornwall. When you are on a walk & the skies are laden with heavy clouds, rain is running off your coats hood, & the wind whips sand across your face, your face is glowing with aliveness. Once home you fill your favourite Cornish Storm mug with tea & snuggle by the open fire under a blanket with your hands warming around your mug. Each mug is hand formed in a beautiful speckled clay. The glazes are the result of much experimentation to create dramatic landscape scene. You will receive a mug from this series. As they are handmade no mug is the same. Update design - for those who have previously brought a hand built mug from me, you will notice now I use a different technique of folding the clay at the join, this not only celebrates hand building for what it is by not blending it into something that looks like it may have been wheel thrown, but also adds extra strength to a large mug As they are hand formed with roll pinned & hands they will not be perfect a little wonky, but perfectly imperfect. They can be used on the dishwasher & microwave, however, I would advise if you can to treat well & gently hand wash to prolong the life of any handmade ceramic piece.
