Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut is $800 added charge invoiced separately). These are very popular & durable woods for high quality furniture. Click the wood choice box above to select your wood. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. The first photo shows the bed with the trundle & stairs. The second photo shows the bed with the trundle pulled open. The third photo shows the bed from the back side with the stairs. The fifth photo shows the top railing removed. The top railing at the sides easily lifts off & slides back on. This enables the covers to be put on the mattress more easily. The following are approximate standard heights above the floor. Headboard top 81. Bottom of upper mattress 58 Bottom of lower mattress 19 I will be pleased to make these heights any values that are best for you. The stairs have storage spaces under the stairs. The taller space under the top step can be used as a clothes hanging space with a rod that you would install (or you can ask me to provide the rod). The stairs are designed to be assembled rising left to right or right to left. So you can use the bed facing either direction. The bed is about 3 wider than your standard size mattress. The bed without stairs is about 5 longer than your standard size mattress. Stairs normally add about 22 to the bed length unless you request different dimensions. The bed is very sturdy to hold two normal size adults on any level. The stairs are also designed for a normal size adult. If you have the need, two children can be on every level (a great way to provide sleeping space for 6 children in a compact space). Extra cost options are billed separately. It actually works a little better to have a smaller mattress in the trundle than the mattress above. The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $120, you can choose from a wide range of colors of dye.
