Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut ( walnut is $650 added charge invoices separately)). These are very popular & durable woods for high quality furniture. The first 7 photos show maple wood with no color added finished with tung oil. The fifth photo shows the top railing removed. The top railing at the sides easily lifts off & slides back on. This enables the covers to be put on the mattress more easily. The following are approximate standard heights above the floor. Headboard top 81. Bottom of upper mattress 58 Bottom of lower mattress for bed 13 With an 8 thick mattress the height from the lower mattress top to the bottom of the slats above is about 36 & the height from the upper mattress top to an 8 foot ceiling is about 30.
