Antique English J. H. Barratt & Co. tile, decorated with an Art Nouveau design of a large purple & amber iris with its whiplash leaves, made circa 1904. The tile measures approximately 6 inches square & has the typical Barratt back. The tile is in excellent condition apart from a chip to the bottom edge. Please see page 27 fig no 114 of the excellent book ‘Art Nouveau Tiles with Style’ by Robert Smith where an example of this design can be seen.
