VINTAGE JAPANESE VASE A Japanese cast brass or bronze vase decorated with champleve enamel for decorative use (see condition report). With two handles of stylised creatures, the cast body has a lattice network of lozenge shapes containing petals. The vase has three separate bands of enamel decoration, the main one around the body featuring a procession of figures guarding a horse drawn chariot on each side. Date: mid 20th century. Condition: Poor condition. The vase has a leak where the lower body is soldered to the plinth; consequently it will only accept about 2 inches of water before it leaks - hence I am describing the vase for decorative use or for dried or imitation flowers. It has had a solder repair around this seam in the past. The enamel is in fair condition but does have a few small areas of enamel loss. The vase has a distorted plinth, probably through being dropped & does wobble a bit.
