Description
This one-of-a-kind 15 x 22 pillow cover is made from a woven Japanese silk nagoya obi in pale peach. Peach piping frames the center panel of heavily woven plum blossoms in white, yellow-green, & peach. The backing is made from two panels of the same peach silk, & there is a convenient zipper closure on the bottom. Obi fabric is unusual in that a bolt of fabric is only 13 wide on average with both edges sealed to prevent fraying. I try to cut my pillows to fit the fabric to preserve the integrity of the edges. As the pieces of fabric have been part of a vintage obi there may be pinholes, creases, spots, or discoloration. I try when possible to cut around any major flaws. All my pillow covers have reinforced seams where the back panels overlap, & edges are overstitched to minimize fabric fraying. Please note that all pillow forms fit differently & you may either want to use a form slightly larger or smaller than the size of the pillow depending on your personal preference (I used a super squishy 16 x 26 form for this photo).
