Beautiful genuine sea glass statement dangle earrings in stunning & very rare cobalt blue & greens, set on sterling silver wires. Drop length just under 1.5 inch drop (3cm). The green droplets are also known as mermaids tears. The story goes that when a fisherman dies at sea the mermaids tears turn into these small, beautiful pieces of sea glass. When they appear on our shores, they are a reminder that no life lost at sea is forgotten. Delicately hand made these earrings are a gorgeous, classy edition to any outfit. AUTHENTICITY MATTERS: This jewellery uses real sea glass from Seaham, North England. This antique sea glass has been tumbling in the sea since 1921. I never ever use "cultured" sea glass which is purposefully man-made glass beads, roughed up to look like they have been in the Sea but have actually never even seen a drop of the ocean. in my opinion nothing replaces the beauty, energy & authenticity of real sea glass that has been hand collected from the shore. QUALITY MATTERS All my sea glass/beach glass items are hand made from genuine sea glass, that has been tumbling in the sea for decades, often over 100 years, as our local glass factory (at Seaham) closed in 1920s & most of the sea glass I collect & use in my jewellery is a product of when this glass works was producing glass or from a WW2 Ship wreck. My beautifully hand crafted sea glass is lovingly reclaimed from the North Yorkshire Coast & mainly upon the shores of my home town, Saltburn-by-the-sea.
