Description
This small bowl is surprisingly glazed with only one glaze, Ancient Jasper, which separates as it melts down the piece in the kiln. On the inside, it is a deep brosn near the rim, transitioning into sienna speckles & finally a pool of copper red in the bottom, which sparkles away. On the exterior, ridges in the clay are highlighted with dappled greys, burnt umbers, & light tan. A lovely little piece to hold your keys, hard candies, or sauces on the dining room table. Tooled foot, signed & dated by the artist, Leanne Franson 2019. Individual variations of screens & lighting may affect the look of the colour compared to the actual item. Slight surface imperfections in the body & glaze are part of the unique handmade quality of these one of a kind pieces & are to be expected & embraced. Bowl itself approximately 2 1/8 (5.5cm) high by 4 1/4 (11cm) diameter. Holds approx 1/2cup/ 125 ml. Thrown on the wheel, bisque fired to cone 04, glazed with Amaco Potter's Choice food safe glazes & refired to Cone 6, this bowl is boiling water, microwave & dishwasher friendly. However the finish will last longer if not exposed to harsh dishwasher detergents & washed by hand instead. All ceramics are fragile if knocked or dropped. They are also subject to heat shock: Do not take ceramics directly from cold & subject them to hot, & vice versa. For example, do not take this bowl from the freezer & put in the oven, or pour ice water into it when it hot. It is perfectly fine to put hot soup or meals into it when room temperature, or heat it from room temperature in the microwave or a cool oven. It is medium fire (cone 6) stoneware, & if treated like your other ceramic dinnerware, should last for generations. Shipping should take about 5 business days once mailed (1-2 days) to Canada, 8-9 days (untracked air) to USA, overseas from North America, which can take 1-3 MONTHS by ground (8-10 business days by air). Upgrade options are available: 2 days for Canada, 7 days (tracked air) to USA, & 5-7 days by air for overseas with a shipping upgrade.
