This is a one of a kind, hand made item - the decorative, ornamental sculpture of a head in the photos is the one you will receive. It is vase shaped but it might not function as a vase in terms of holding water, so I am selling it more as a decorative sculpture. You could always put dried flowers in it or paint brushes, wooden spoons, twigs - anything you like. Or keep it as a sculpture. This mug was hand sculpted, by me, in my tiny back garden studio. I make approx 5 items a week, at weekends; the rest of the time I'm a full time art teacher. This one was hand sculpted using earthenware clay. I added all the features by hand - the nose, mouth, eyes, cheeks, ears & eyebrows. The face is designed to be without obvious gender, race or emotion. It is very impassive & could be construed in many ways - it could be glum, or pondering, thoughtful or meditative? I bisque fired it for 24 hours, then hand painted it using a variety of shades of beige, brown, copper, white, pink & green for the eyes. The glaze is very textured & drippy & the base is all pushed in & wonky (don't ask...) It is a unique, one of a kind piece of decorative sculptural art, & will definitely start conversations! It will arrive boxed, in ethically sourced packaging - usually coloured tissue paper, but I might re-use some bubble wrap if I have received some.
